The following PDF file contains a scan of the pay abstract described in an earlier blog post. It may be difficult to see, but if you zoom in you can make out the names of the captains and how many men of each specific rank are to be paid for the period of August 31st to September 30th, 1776. This source helps to give us an idea of how many men were left in the regiment in the weeks directly following the Battle of Long Island.
